Sussex RCMP and members of the Sussex Fire Department, were dispatched to a propane tank located just in behind Smitty’s and Easy Home at approximately 5pm. Firefighters quickly put water to the leak which was releasing a white cloud from the tank. RCMP members as well evacuated the Gateway mall, Wal-Mart, and blocked all traffic from going near the leak. No foul play was deemed to have taken place to cause the leak, according to one of the responding RCMP members.
