Friday September 3, 2010- The Coles Island Seniors are excited to be holding a musical evening on Friday, September 3 starting at 7pm. There will be a free will offering with all monies raised going toward hall renovations. The event will be held at the Coles Island Lions Club. Entertainers include: Raymond McIntyre; Dennis & Eileen Malloy; Ruth & Eldon Barton; Debbie Connell, and many more!
- There will be a soccer clinic on saturday Sept. 4th 10:00- 11:30 for any girl or boy planning to try out for a Middle School team.
Clinic will be conducted by the coaches and players of the UPEI girls soccer team. There is no fee, please wear appropriate clothing!
- Come to the Sussex Tennis Courts in Sussex for Appreciation Night! Everyone is invited to come see the new Tennis & Basketball Courts! Come meet town officials and the newly formed Sussex Tennis Association Volunteers!! That's Tuesday at 6:30pm, rain date is Wednesday at 6:30pm!
- Greater Fundy Ground Search & Rescue Fund raising Golf & Roast Beef Dinner will be held at the Scenic View Golf Course & Campground on Sunday September 12. Golf starts at 1pm with dinner served after. There is a hole in one prize as well as other door prizes, 50/50 tickets, and entertainment. Cost is $30 and the sign up deadline is September 7. - The 18th annual reunion for all former staff members of Kings County Memorial Hospital is taking place Monday at Jones Memorial Park in Apohaqui! Registration starts at 4pm, while a beef dinner begins at 5, with apple crisp for dessert! Come renew old friendships and make new ones! Please bring any photos if you have any, and stories are always welcome!
- Get out those running shoes! Register for the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life, which is to be held Sunday, September 19th, at Fisher Lakes. All money raised remains with AIDS Saint John to provide programs and services in south-western New Brunswick. There is no fee for team registration and all pledge amounts are welcomed. Day-of registration will start at 11AM at the Fisher Lakes A-Frame, and the walk/run starts at 12. - Sussex Lions Club holds Bingo every Tuesday night.Doors open at 5:30. Bingo starts at 7. Jackpot prize is $1000 and a canteen is available. For more information, call 433-5453. Proceeds from weekly bingo games help support community based projects.
- The Auction 45's Card Party put on by the Knights of Columbus happens every Wednesday night at 7:30pm in the St. Francis Xavier Hall! A light lunch is provided as well there are prizes given out! For more information contact Jarvis McQuinn at 433-1837!
- The Sussex & Area Women's Support Group has weekly meetings every Monday night at 7pm in the Sussex Health Centre (Room 21 on the 1st floor). For more information phone 435-1649!
